Yoga and Wellness retreat at The Olive Farm:

Join us for a 7 day retreat on the farm, a place to reset your nervous system, connect with nature and learn the traditional flavors of Crete. We create a home base for small groups to cook, eat, practice yoga and relax.

Yoga with Julien Andres

Julien is a Seattle native, foodie, and free spirited yoga teacher. She has recently made Crete her home and we are thrilled to share her passion for adventure, inquiry, and the science of yoga. “I teach to each groups needs. I create a sequence of postures to empower the body and connect to the life force within. Classes are all levels and include asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath control), meditation and reflection.”

Julien has been a yogi since 1997 and became a yoga teacher in 2008. She teaches from her background and training at Samadhi Yoga (200 hour TT) in Seattle Washington. Her style has been described as intuitive flow, adapting to the person or groups needs that she is working with. “I teach from my heart! I have the ability to teach intuitively, with purpose and a sense of humor.  I am a human with real struggles, triumphs, injuries, and emotions. I use my life skills to create a safe space for all people, to show that we all have the ability to grow and learn. ” Her spiritual beliefs align with Nature, the rhythm of the Seasons. Influences include past teachers Kathleen Hunt, Eiric Orvid, Troy Lucero, Baron Baptiste, and other amazing humans, family and friends.

The Cretan diet: a long healthy heritage and tradition

Recognized as one of the healthiest diets, the Cretan diet holds all those elements that shape healthy nutrition. Since nutrition is such an important element in health and wellness we design our menus and cooking classes around seasonality. You will discover the secrets of the local diet that go back thousands of years to the Minoan times. We will cook with ingredients which complement and balance each other and give more to the body than they take away from it. Join us for this Vegetarian Cooking Yoga Retreat and combine the health benefits of yoga with wholesome delicious vegetarian meals, using fresh organic artisan produce!


Your accommodation can range from small traditional cottages that sleep 2-4 people to larger luxury villas. All accommodations  are located in and around the village of Litsarda, close to The Olive Farm. When you get in touch we will discuss your specific accommodation requirements and provide all the information of your accommodation, with photography, before you book the holiday.

Sample Retreat Itinerary

Day 1

16:00 Pick up from the city center of Chania. Transfer to your accommodation in the area of Apokoronas, a lush region in the Northern coast of Crete with numerous villages between the olive groves and vineyards.  We will gather at the farm with drinks and meze to share info about the schedule for the week. Free evening to meet each other and explore the village.

Cooking and Yoga Retreat

We invite you to take a week for yourself at The Olive Farm. This wellness retreat focuses on the simple things: slowing down, connection to self and others, making and sharing meals, twice daily yoga classes.

Our home base on Crete is The Olive Farm, a tranquil hideaway on a hillside in the village of Litsarda. The traditional cottage on the farm has a terrace that looks across the plain to the White Mountains. This is a place where you can relax, enjoy the songs of birds, meet local people and marvel in the traditions of food and farming. This is an opportunity to get ‘hands on’ in the open air kitchen with local chef Zetta. Included in the itinerary are three cooking classes. Foodie alert!

We start each day with yoga under the oak tree. The hens greet you as you wonder through the gardens to the yoga space. Songbirds perform, the aromatics from the wild flowers and herbs awaken the senses. Morning practice is all levels Hatha flow focusing on strength and balance. In the late afternoons we approach our mats with the intention of restoring and rest. Meditation, reflection, breathing.

We also have several excursions planned highlighting our favorite remote beaches, hikes and historical ruins. We offer a unique experience to our guests in our guided adventures on Crete, visiting small villages, hiking the Aradana gorge, insight to history and tradition. You will get a true sense of the rich history and culture of the Cretans.

Upon initial introduction, we can discuss accommodation options based on your budget and group or family size. We work with our guests in the planning process with accommodations in the nearby villages.
